    The International Workshop of T3.J2.2 NIMTech project was held on 22nd of February 2011. The workshop was attended by over 90 people from up to 13 different countries including USA, Japan, Russia, and UK. Among the people in attendance, approximately 38 % of them are from manufacturing industries, 28 % from European NMIs, the rest are from universities, research institutions, and etc, and other include PhD students in the field of coordinate metrology who are working on different industrial projects.

    Three expertises in dimensional metrology were invited as keynote speakers to the workshop: Rolls-Royce in UK, NIST in USA, and European NMIs as well as EURAMET representative from METAS in Switzerland. The scientific, technological outputs, and other foreground intellectual properties through diverse nature of the presentations transfer to these wider audiences from industries, national and private metrological laboratories, academic and research institutions.

    In addition to series of presentation on the output of NIMTech project, a special exhibition session dedicated to display NIMTech project technologies was also held, among the items on debut are:

    • Multi-station networks using in large object measurement, show innovation configuration methods that prevents error
    • Innvovative and robust measurement standards (artefacts) manufactured in the project – freeform artefacts, tetrahedron, involute large gear artefacts
    • Demonstration of IASV infrastructure;
    • five posters.

    The outcome of the workshop has been reviewed by evaluating the feedback from the workshop participants as well as information from the workshop keynote speakers.

    The workshop presentations (pdf-format) are available for free download:
